For a material to be sustainable, it must be abundant and easily replaced. As a grass that can grow up to 10 centimeters a day, bamboo is a prime candidate for eco-friendly products! Harvested bamboo can be completely replenished in two-weeks’ time. And because it’s naturally anti-microbial, it’s perfect for personal hygiene products like toothbrushes. Bamboo is more water-resistant than wood, but the self-standing MABLE brush handle keeps it even more protected from water damage.
Can I recycle my toothbrush?
Absolutely. In fact, you can throw your used brush handle into the compost because bamboo is biodegradable. However, to maximize the hygienic properties of the brush, the bristles do include nylon, and they are not compostable. The bristles are easily removed with tweezers before composting the handle!
Is the packaging eco-friendly?
You bet it is. We really care about the environment, and we knew that our eco-friendly toothbrush had better have an eco-friendly package to go with it! The cardboard box and insert can go in the recycle bin. We’re working hard towards our goal of making a completely biodegradable protective sleeve for the MABLE brush in the very near future. For now, place the sleeve in the textile recycle bin, and be on the lookout for updates!
Can I cancel my monthly subscription?
Of course you can. Anytime. No need to contact us first; simply login to your account and hit the “Cancel” button. We’ll be sad to let you go, but thrilled to know you support our cause!
I have a Mable club membership, when does my credit card get charged?
We charge your credit card $8 when your Mable brush ships (every three months). You will receive an email 4 days before your brush is about to ship so that you can make any adjustments to your membership. For example change of address or credit card.
How does the “BUY GIVE TEACH” program work?
For every toothbrush purchased, MABLE donates another toothbrush. But that’s not all. There’s a reason we don’t call our program “One for One”: we go a step further. Our team actually visits schools in the U.S. to teach kids about the importance of keeping our planet green, while hand-delivering their new bamboo brush. Because change starts with good habits. And good habits need a reason. With education, we aim to give kids a reason to make sustainable choices in their lives. Starting now.
Our program is full of fun activities and presentations. If you’re a teacher and would like to know more, drop us a note! Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
How long does the bamboo handle take to decompose?
We estimate the handle to take somewhere between 6-8 months to decompose and go back into nature. We are currently doing our own research and tests, and we’ll keep you posted!
